Camp Goals

This summer camp is designed to introduce a new path of self-learning and character building for children.

Children are our future, but we must educate them from the present so that they can establish their own values for the future. In today’s modern internet-based society, it is getting harder to educate children as they are bombarded with all kinds of information that not only saturates their brain with noise but also contaminates their attention; the external influences are so strong and the examples they see are so inadequate that it hinders their growth.

“The handling of children is very important. Their innocence is to be handled in a very delicate manner as you would handle a beautiful flower.” – H. H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (Founder of Sahaja Yoga meditation)

Meditation is a breakthrough, where they can develop their innate qualities, which will be the light that will guide them when they must make decisions that impact their lives and must discern between what is right and beneficial to them and what is not.

About Sahaja Yoga Meditation

Introduction to our meditation
Thoughtless awareness, also known as mental silence, is the basis of good health and wellbeing. Sahaja Yoga meditation provides this experience.

What is Meditation?
Meditation is the personal experience of going beyond one’s thoughts, worries and upsets, and being in a state of peace and calm.

In meditation, one is fully alert and aware but free of the unnecessary thoughts or worries that lead to many of life’s day to day stresses. This state of peace and calm occurs spontaneously when one learns how to focus on the experience of the present moment. Through a simple process, known as Self-Realisation (kundalini awakening) this meditation state can be quickly established, maintained and, most importantly, enjoyed!

Who can do meditation?
Everyone… no matter what your race, belief, gender, age or status you’ll find the meditation and associated simple techniques easy to practice.  The meditation has been introduced to millions of people around the world. Its popularity has grown steadily since it was founded in 1970, by Shri Mataji. There are many online classes and centres around the world that have been established to offer the public an opportunity to experience this simple meditation. See global centres.

What does it cost?
There is no charge for the teachings of Sahaja Yoga meditation. The basic philosophy is to provide the knowledge and experience of meditation to anyone who seeks it. However, expenses for venue hire, advertising and printing etc are met by voluntary contributions.

Who teaches the meditation?
The meditation is taught by our non-profit  community-focused group of meditation practitioners, some who have been practising this meditation technique since 1980.

Start of Sahaja Yoga meditation
In 1970, after studying the field of medicine and focusing on the scientific terminology of the anatomy and human physiology, she started Sahaja Yoga meditation, which she insisted be shared with all, at no cost.

Shri Mataji in early days of teaching Sahaja Yoga meditation

Shri Mataji’s core teaching is that within us all lies a transformative potential, which can be awakened using her method.  By doing so, we can bring peace and wellbeing to ourselves, our families, our social institutions, our nations and our world.

In keeping with her principles, Sahaja Yoga meditation  is now offered in over one hundred countries worldwide, free of charge.
